8th Annual Moto Carrera Extravaganza Kicked Ass!
This year's show was easily the best ever with a huge turnout of two-stroke lovers converging on L.A.'s Hansen Dam for the 8th annual Two-Stroke Extravaganza. Old bikes, new bikes, lots of bikes from the '70' & '80's, you name it. If you like 2-stroke sport bikes you were in utopia. The cackle of chambers and the smell of castor oil blended with the barbecue smoke to create the perfect 2-stroke lovers ambience. Several hundred people walked up & down through the rows of bikes with big smiles on their faces, stopping occasionally to watch somebody fire up their machine, which would always draw a crowd. This much fun is usually illegal. I  think they finally caught on when a team of undercover cops showed up at 3:30, long after the show was over. A few unsuspecting guys having a cold one, got popped for drinking in the park, a $70. ticket. It's a good thing they weren't around for the infamous parade lap of clowns. It turned into 19 laps at moron international speedway. Dump the clutch, pop a 6-inch wheely, slam the speedbump, do it again & again until something finally falls off your bike! After a few minutes it was getting pretty old. With 37 categories, several well-deserving enthusiasts took home trophies presented by judge's chairman and show mc, Jay Mendoza. This years show was the toughest to judge due to so many exquisite bikes. Thanks to everyone who participated and enjoyed the party. What used to be 15-20 bikes showing up to get hamburgers & a soda, has turned into one of the premier motorcycle events on the west coast. No longer are we a little obscure group of hooligans riding noisy bikes, we're a big group of proud enthusiasts celebrating the most exciting bikes in the world!

What some of the guests had to say about this years show...

Henry Hester, John Brewton and son are  holding their share of hardware.
Check out John doing a cool burnout! This S3 with a built KH400 motor really rips! Check out those 3 pipes on the right and hear them in the video clip.
Robert Hodges (BR), the creator of the leading 2-stroke forum, www.usa2strokers.com,  was there as always with his trophy winning Daytona Specials. He was having way too much fun on his Daytona replica chopper.
With bikes like this GP replica RZ500, Steve & his dad, Dennis Turner, are raising the bar for everybody at the moment. Their collection is simply awesome!
Wow! This was truly the year of the non-US exotics. There were several dozen GP-replicas and most looked like new, or better. It was an absolutely stunning display of some of the nicest two-strokes in the world.
This was a turnout to remember. Thanks to all who participated.
