Jamie Miller’s Hawk/RZ350 Roadracer

Jamie Miller of Owens Cross Roads, Alabama is the proud owner of this beautifully fabricted hybrid. It’s a modified Honda 650 Hawk chassis powered by a stage III RZ350 motor built by Gary Stumm of MRA Racing in Live Oak, Florida. Gary is an artist when it comes to RD & RZ porting & is well known throughout the south for his powerplants. It runs 35mm carbs & breathes through Uni filters. Spark is supplied by a Motoplat CDI. The front end is off a Honda CBR600 F3.

The bike weighs in at around 285 pounds and according to Jamie it’s a blast to ride. Charlie Von Valkenburg, owner of the famous Pit Bull motorcycle stand company, did all of the design work & fabrication including a custom sub frame and tail piece which like his bike stands are true works of art.
Von Valkenburg sculpted the toomey pipes to exit gp-style on the right side of the bike. He & Jamie both put the bike together a little over a year ago & since then Jamie has taken a second in a WERA national clubman class race, narrowly missing his first win in a last lap duel.
Since we received these photos the bike has been fitted with some new Marchesini wheels. "I hope I never crash this thing as most of the parts are hand-built one-off pieces, but somehow I don’t think of that as I head off into turn one." As well as this machine must handle with the hawk’s single sided swingarm coupled with a wicked-fast motor it’s got to be quite a ride!
