   Ryan's Race Report....

 Buttonwillow Raceway, Bakersfield, CA  3/25/07
Anyway,as I walked through the pits to see who had shown up, I realized that everyone who had shown up were all riding 750cc bikes. There was Dave on his H2R , a few guys on  750 Ducks, and a guy on a Honda 400 R with a 460 big bore kit in it. Needless to say I was a bit out powered and on the small side.( HA HA) Unlike the other races, I didn't get the holeshot. But that monster 2-stroke did allow me to catch and pass one of the Duck 750's by turn 3,that and my pin it till you win it style. After a few laps had passed, I found myself in 3rd place. I was all over the ass end of that Honda 460,in the Bus-stop I thought I had him for 2nd but at that time the guy in 1st place in the wave ahead of us passed me in the bus-stop and broke hard ( a turn where I don't have to) and made me brake hard as well, allowing the Honda to get away. At the end of the race,Dave Crussell on his H2R came in first, the Honda 460 came in 2nd, and I came in 3rd.Not to bad for being the smallest bike there!! We all know about Dave, and the guy in 2nd , Bernard, is also a bad ass in AHMRA and at WILLOWS. Not bad company to be with. In practice all I could muster up time wise was a 2:24.In the race my best lap time came in on lap 4, I put up a 2:18. Dropped 6 seconds off my lap time, FUCKING A. I looked at the race as a learning experience, I kept up with two of the best riders in Vintage, and my biggest self-pat came when Dave Crussell came up to me and pointed out that his best lap of the day was a 2:17 , and that my best lap was 2:18. He said I was only 1 second off his and that's dam good. That's the race in a nut shell, hope you like the outcome, I was pleased. Sears Point will be better, I am very comfortable at that track. Now for the next issue. I am having problems with wheel chatter/hop coming out of turns. Today I got chatter in a turn doing about 105 mph, I was able to correct it but shit my pants. I had a talk with Dave Crussell and he said the same as everyone else, get rid of those mags, there heavy and have to much flex under high speeds or hard acceleration. I need to get a set of those Excell rims we talked about. BLACK HOOPS WITH CHROME SPOKES AND BLACK HUBS,READY TO BOLT ON. This is something I have to address ASAP, so far the wheel chatter has been controllable, but I know the time will come when it's not. I think today went very well with the company I was in, hopefully so do you.
Ryan.

Imboden spanks 'em again at Infineon!  Oct. 2006
In his second AFM middleweight vintage race in Infineon raceway, Ryan Imboden & his blistering-fast Moto Carrera RD400, again took the holeshot & motored away from the field. Turning 2:08 lap times he had a 12 second lead by the end of lap one! Congratulations Ryan, you've got huevos!
