Woodley Park 2006 Two-Stroke Extravaganza... just a few of the bikes

Of all of the two-stroke extravaganzas we've done, this one really rocked the entire Woodley Park, no small feat I'm told. The vast array of beautiful bikes was almost as incredible as the level of finish of the average bike in the show. The RD guru of OC & Hooligan president Jay Mendoza, was once again, the man of the show, as chairman of the judging comittee.  With such tough competition, Jay had a tougher job than usual. His standards have a lot to do with the overall quality of the show, as he has set the bar high over the years. The majority of the entrants were truly, of museum & concours quality. And very few of these are trailer queens! Nearly every bike there started & ran as well as it looked, except for a few, like that of my buddy Al Lopa, whose immaculate stock '76 RD400, siezed on the freeway on the way to the show. Dozens of RG500's & RZV's & just about every other exotic were there to make us all drool with envy, as well as a few obscure specimens such as a 125 Runi and a 1959 Berkeley car powered by a 328cc Excelsior 2-stroke twin! I am still amazed at the turnout and feedback. The crowd was full of such notables as Jay Leno, Dan Gurney, and Perry King. Hundreds, maybe well over a thousand motorcycle enthusiasts showed up & ate some of the best bbq burgers in the world, thanks to beef guru, Stan Mendell. Lots of t-shirts & oil was raffled off, in fact, an employee Curtis who was raffling off the t-shirts & oil, got real generous & gave away complete cases of Motul for each winning ticket! I got away from the raffle area to mingle as soon as I handed him the mike, and didn't hear about it for a couple of hours later. One happy winner was even a motorcycle dealer who came in a huge transporter. I'm sure that oil went right onto the shelf as soon as he got to the shop! Dozens of t-shirts sold, until we ran out - all in about 20 minutes. People were walking away with money in their hand for the rest of the show. We'll bring more next year, for sure! Event t-shirts are available if you missed out on one, just call us. Thanks to all for making this such a successful event. We hope to see you all next year at the 10th annual extravaganza.
